Rawcliffe kept up their title challenge with a 3-2 win at Poppleton in the York FA Under-19s Football League.

Rawcliffe took the lead when the impressive Dan Zambelli scored from a corner.

Poppleton equalised on 35 minutes when Lee Fisher smashed the ball in after a goalmouth scramble.

Rawcliffe again forged into the lead in the second half when a mistake by the Poppleton defence let in Lee Stewart. Fisher again equalised when he followed up to score after the ’keeper fumbled his first shot.

The winning goal came from the best move of the match, with Karl Butler adding the finish.

Dunninton won 1-0 away at Huntington.

They dominated from start to finish, but only had a Rob Chipps goal direct from a free-kick to show for it.

Goalkeeper Liam Broadley made several outstanding saves to keep Huntington in the game.

Fulford thrashed visitors Heworth 7-0 in their best display of the season.

The passing and movement was a joy to behold as Sam Harrison, Richard Johnson, Carl Stewart and Ashley Armitage all scored one each and the prolific Danny Penrose completed the scoring with a hat-trick.

Wigginton were held to a 2-2 draw by New Earswick.

Dean Bowers opened the scoring for Earswick with a shot from outside the box, before he went off with a knee injury. Wigginton made it 1-1 at half-time with a free-kick from Jordan McGuigan.

Earswick took the lead with another shot from outside the box from Adam Room, but Liam Wingfield equalised with ten minutes to go.
