THORPE United FC Under-16s saw their title challenge undermined in the York Minor League division one by a 3-3 draw at Pickering Town.

A last-minute equaliser from the Pikes denied Thorpe, who won 7-0 in the reverse fixture, a key victory.

Having fallen a goal behind, Thorpe hit back thanks to a burst of brilliant pace from scorer Josh Brigham.

Pikes made it 2-1 at half-time but skipper Jack Ashmore’s corner was headed in by Jordan Lodge.

Lodge got his second with five minutes remaining before the leveller.
