THE Howardian Hills provided the picturesque backdrop as Terrington Hall School hosted its annual under-11s and U13s cross country event for boys and girls.
A total of eight schools took part in the event, including Bramcote, Cundall Manor, Hurworth House, Lyndhurst, Mowden Hall, St Martin’s Ampleforth, Terrington Hall and Woodleigh.
The race was run in perfect weather conditions and the competitors tackled the traditional three-and-a-half mile course through the village of Terrington and across the Howardian Hills, finishing on Terrington Hall’s rugby pitches.
The results of the team events were:
• U11s girls: 1 Lyndhurst; 2 St Martin’s Ampleforth; 3 Terrington Hall
• U11s boys: 1 Mowden Hall; 2 Lyndhurst; 3 St Martin’s Ampleforth
• U13s girls: 1 St Martin’s Ampleforth; 2 Cundall Manor; 3 Bramcote
• U13s boys: 1 St Martin’s Ampleforth; 2 Terrington Hall; 3 Woodleigh.
