SIX years ago Eddi Reader revisited the songs of Robert Burns, which she learned as a child, and recorded an album that featured folk luminaries John McCusker, Ian Carr, Ewan Vernal and Phil Cunningham who were joined by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the elegant arrangements of the late Kevin McCrea.

This inspired blend of the classical and the traditional combined with Reader’s dulcet tones and the lyrical songs of Burns to create an album that earned critical plaudits from around the world. This year, to mark the 250th birthday of Burns, the album has been re-released with seven additional tracks, including a sumptuous Green Grow The Rashes O.
