When I became aware that the people of Clifton Without had no Community Hall, even though there is a dormant registered charity, with local trustees and funds, specifically for the purpose of providing one, I asked a trustee about it and was told I was on a dangerous course and “Nobody wants one.” I have found that nobody connected with it wants to talk about it either.
When I commented on the Press web site about the article (Saturday 10th Jan.) about leisure and recreational facilities for youth in York, and drew attention to the situation in Clifton Without, a ‘Mr Sheen’ wrote "Don't make me angry - you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!"
Why is it so dangerous and provoking to speak out about this glaring discrepancy in this parish of 2,200 residents of voting age and their families ?
