UNLUCKY York Schoolboys Under-13s came up against a ’keeper in top form as they drew 2-2 with South Nottinghamshire.

There were excellent performances from York duo Oliver Adamson and Sam Kitson in midfield and, but for some excellent saves from the South Notts ’keeper, York would have been three or four goals up.

James Green teed up goal machine James Hudson and he coolly rounded the ’keeper to put York ahead.

South Notts bagged a deserved equaliser early in the second half and the visitors then took the lead from a corner.

However, York hit back as Billy Chadwick sped down the left flank, cut in and finished with a powerful left-foot shot.

Assistant coach Gary Kitson said: “I was especially impressed with Alex Horsman playing like he did after a five-week lay-off. We have got something to build on in readiness for our next league game.”
