A TEAM of five up-and-coming New Earswick Swimming Club stars flew the flag the Yorkshire Winter Championships at Ponds Forge, in Sheffield.
Laura Fieldhouse, 13, finished sixth in the final of the girls 100 metres freestyle, clocking a personal best time of 1minute 03.58secs.
Fieldhouse, who had finished sixth in the heats in 1:03.61, also recorded a PB as she finished 19th in the 200m individual medley.
Daniel Hynes, 11, qualified as second reserve for the final of the boys 100m breaststroke in a PB of 1:33.45.
Debutant Molly Eaton, 13, swam well to produce PBs and finish 14th in the girls 100m backstroke, 23rd in the 200m IM and 25th in the 100m freestyle.
Sarah Graves, 13, missed out on a place in the final of the girls’ 100m breaststroke. She finished 19th in a PB of 1:29.60. Lewis Fairburn, 12, was 35th after a PB in the boys' 100m backstroke.
