Bethany’s Lake was the hot pick at Langwith Lakes and produced the leaders, including winner Andy Stoner.
The humble maggot proved to be the right approach for Stoner at peg two, where his far bank tactics produced 61lb 2oz of carp to 3lb to see him safely home by a comfortable margin. On peg three, Keith Gardner alternated maggot across with corn in the near margin to find carp of the same stamp on his way to 52lb and second place.
