PEOPLE in York are being offered a way out of the financial maze created by the credit crunch by a life and business coach.
Robert Broughton says he can advise people who find themselves locked in the grip of a cash crisis and will run a full-day workshop at the Royal York Hotel next week.
Those who want to learn how to take control of their finances are being offered the coaching sessions, which cost £75 each.
"We are living in difficult times when many of us are facing financial hardship due to increased costs of living, higher interest rates and salaries which don't keep up with inflation," said Robert.
"The pressure of day-to-day life has never been so intense. At times like this, it's more important that we look after ourselves properly and keep a focus on our future. Financial stress is not only worrying - it resonates at a very deep emotional level within us. It affects our health, relationships, work performance and creativity, and can cause exhaustion, depression and premature ageing.
"Those who attend might not necessarily be having problems from a financial perspective - the course is aimed at getting people to have a think about their lives and maybe things which are holding them back."
Robert feels those who pay to be part of the Creative Living Goals course will see tangible benefits.
"It's all about lifting people into a more positive state, to think about the situation they are in and the possible solutions, and, in that sense, I believe it will be money well spent," said Robert.
"We hope we can help people draw up some new strategies over the next few months and years."
Creative Living Goals costs £75 to attend, which is an introductory rate and includes lunch and refreshments. To book a place, phone 01904 738801 or 07730 059634.
