City of York Hockey Club's Girl's A' made a superb start to their season in Halifax, winning four out of the five games and goalie Laura Woosey kept a clean sheet.
A convincing win over Driffield 1 3-0, with goals from Fern Grimbley, Hannah Yoward and Emily Carman, was followed by a 2-0 win over Halifax 1, with Grimbley and Emily Watson on target.
Yoward struck to seal a 1-0 win over Leeds 1, Kirklees 1 were beaten 2-0, thanks to Emily Carman and Ellie Martin, before a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Hallam.
City of York B' lost 5-0 to Kingston-upon-Hull 1 and then claimed a 0-0 draw with Kingston-upon-Hull 2.
A 1-0 defeat by LA Carnegie and a 2-0 defeat by Slazengers 2 rounded off the day.
City of York C' beat Airedale 1 6-0, thanks to Rebecca Birch (4), Emily Williams and Polly Morris. They lost 2-0 to Driffield 2, but went on to win the third game 3-1, with a Birch hat-trick. They rounded off with defeats to Rotherham and Bradford.
