Poppleton Ousebank's week was mixed in League B of the York Primary Schools' Football League.

They recorded one of the best results of the week beating PTA Champions Yearsley Grove with goals from Cocker and Gore, but then forfeited their match at Woodthorpe by failing to arrive.

Such a forfeiture could prove costly as Yearsley got back to winning ways with two impressive victories.

In the Huntington derby, they overcame Huntington Primary 2-1 with all the goals in the first half. Louis Rawdon proved the difference with both goals with Jacob Rose replying.

Yearsley produced another strong first half performance at Woodthorpe, scoring four goals without reply, although Woodthorpe improved in a blank second half.

Dunnington found themselves on the end of two defeats in League C, but teacher Phil Martinez is still pondering how.

Their opening game against Dringhouses saw them lead 2-0 at half-time with goals from Ainslie and Wilson. But a turn-around saw them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Dringhouses showed huge determination in their first game on their return to Primary football. They drew level with strikes from Jacob Harrison-Green and Harvey Rowson-Jeffrey before Harrison-Green snatched a last-gasp winner.

Wigginton sneaked a 1-0 win over the unfortunate villagers, who this time were denied by a magnificent performance from the Wigginton goalkeeper. Callum Hurst was on target.

Westfield have assumed control in League A with wins at Ralph Butterfield and at home to Hempland.

Oliver James had an eventful day at Butterfield as he put through his own goal before he scored twice at the right end to give Westfield victory. They followed this with a solid 3-0 win over Hempland.

However, Westfield were defeated 2-1 by Copmanthorpe. A Michael Pearson goal followed a Copmanthorpe opener from Dominic Hogarth before a last-minute winner from substitute William Watts's first touch.

In League G, Copmanthorpe edged out Westfield to claim top spot.

A Charlie Gregory hat-trick and a goal from Ryan Stericker were key in a seven-goal thriller. Bradley Walters, Reece Moody and Robbie Langstaff replied.

However, Westfield proved too strong for Ralph Butterfield winning 6-0 with Moody and Walters scoring two goals each. Joe Gough and Ashley Farmery also scored before Westfield then notched a resounding 5-1 win over Hempland.

Derwent continued their impressive return to primary football with a 1-0 win at St Lawrence's in League E.

In League F Tang Hall and Skelton shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. Tang Hall managed to hit a post, but Skelton spurned the chance to gain all three points, missing a penalty and having another one saved.

Both Mark Richards, Skelton's teacher and Martin Lumb, Tang Hall's teacher were impressed with both sides' sportsmanship.

Appleton Roebuck continue to blaze the trail in League F after a Steven Arnold goal and a second half Matthew Etherington header sealed the points against a stubborn Knavesmire.
