WOODHOUSE Grange moved into their second Yorkshire Premier League cup final of 2018 with a 46-run victory in the semi-final of the league's knockout competition, the Rudgate Cup.
Grange, who have already lifted the Hunters T20 Blast and currently sit second in the Yorkshire Premier League North table, beat Yorkshire South side Aston Hall at home to reach the August 26 final to be played at Treeton CC near Rotherham.
Woodhouse totalled 279-6 in their 40 overs thanks to 100 from opener Tom Young, 50 from skipper James Finch and 63 off only 30 balls by Richard Walton.
Woodhouse reduced Aston Hall to 62-2 but the Sheffield side were still on course until their Pakistan T20 international, Awais Zia, holed out to Chris Bilton on the boundary off the bowling of Woodhouse's director of cricket, Steve Burdett.
That put Woodhouse in control and Aston Hall fell 46 runs short at 255 all out, despite skipper Rob Ward's 57 which included seven big sixes. Home spinners Finch and Simon Tennant both picked up three wickets.
Woodhouse Grange will meet either Yorkshire Academy or Barnsley in the final.
