THE York branch of Mothercare will shut.
A closing down sale was launched at the store this morning, Saturday.
In May the company announced plans close 50 of its 137 stores as part of a wide-ranging shake-up.
But it was not known if the Clifton Moor Retail Park branch would be one of those affected.
However an email sent to customers at the York store today, Saturday, said the branch will shut.
It said: "Our York store is closing. Get in store now to get fantastic offers on all products - when they're gone they're gone."
It added that the nearest location following the closure will be the Leeds branch.
A spokeswoman for Mothercare said the store will shut in the next six weeks.
Shops in York that have closed in recent times include BHS, River Island and Homebase.
In March, it was revealed that Outfit, Evans, Miss Selfridge, and Topshop/Topman are to close on Monks Cross Shopping Park in September.
