WANT to perfect your lightsaber skills at Jedi Training School, say hello to a Harry Potter delivery owl or show off your skills in a NERF battle?

There is something for everyone at this year's York Unleashed comic-con event.

Film and television stars set to appear at the event tomorrow at York Racecourse include sixth and eighth Doctor Who doctors Colin Baker and Paul McGann, Miriam Margoyles and David Bradley from the Harry Potter franchise.

Organiser Lee Hall, of Middlesbrough-based Unleashed Events, said the event is set to be fun for all the family, with a chill out zone and petting zoo also featuring in the attractions.

Huge Transformers Bumblebee and Optimus Prime will be on hand to meet fans, as will Daisy, a 12-foot tall dinosaur, while droids from The R2D2 Builders Club UK and a couple of Daleks will be relegated to the ground floor - as they are notoriously bad with stairs - while Knight Rider's KITT and other cars and vehicles from cult television and movies will be on display outside the racecourse.

Thousands of movie and comic fans attend in costume each year, from a simple outfit to elaborate alien costumes - with under and over-14s costume competitions being held throughout the day.

There will also be traders selling toys, comics, collectables, art, jewellery, games and more.

The event opens from 12pm to 5pm tomorrow. Tickets cost £6, under-12s £4 and under-fives have free admission.
