YORK Minster and Flamingo Land have topped a list of most visited attractions in the county.

According to VisitEngland’s Annual Attractions Survey 2017, published yesterday, Yorkshire attractions experienced the highest visitor increase in the country, with a seven per cent increase on 2016.

The most visited paid attractions in Yorkshire include Flamingo Land, Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster, York Minster and The Deep in Hull.

Flamingo Land also made the top 20 most visited paid attractions in England coming in at third.

The list of most visited free attractions includes the the National Railway Museum in York.

Yorkshire has outperformed all other regions in England with the greatest rise in visitors to the county’s attractions.

The county also saw the highest increase in day trip visitors up nine per cent on 2016, as well as a seven per cent spend increase across the county’s paid attractions.
