A RESTAURANT worker has appeared before York magistrates accused of stabbing a colleague with a screwdriver.
Jifeng Yang, 44, is alleged to have committed the offence in the early hours of Sunday in Skeldergate.
He did not enter a plea to charges of wounding and possession of a bladed article in public.
Yang, of Barbican Road, York, was represented by Graham Parkin and had a Chinese interpreter.
Magistrates remanded Yang in custody until his next appearance at York Crown Court in September 3.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said a 47-year-old remained in hospital in a stable condition.
