A TEENAGE cyclist who was severely injured in a collision with a car on a North Yorkshire road has now died.
North Yorkshire Police have identified the 15-year-old as Kedel Bartlett, from Snaith.
"Specially-trained officers are supporting Kedel's family at this extremely difficult time," said a spokesman.
"A file has been prepared for the coroner. Officers are continuing to appeal for information about this incident."
The collision happened outside Eggborough Power Station, near Selby, at about 9.15pm on Monday July 16 and involved a black Volkswagen Passat and a white BMX style pedal cycle.
The boy, who was travelling with another cyclist at the time of the collision, was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
The road was closed for about six hours while officers from the Roads Policing Group and Forensic Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene.
Police said previously that the driver of the car, a man in his 30s, was uninjured.
They urged anyone with information to phone 101, quoting ref 12180129433.
