WHO is the best band in York...at football?

To find out, BBC Radio York and BBC Introducing presenter Jericho Keys is holding a six-a-side tournament at York Railway Institute, New Lane, York, on August 11, in aid of York Mind, kicking off at 12 noon.

Taking part in Life's A Pitch will be teams representing Serotones; Hello Operator; Sandra's Wedding; Honours; Jake Pattinson; The Feens; Tiger Twins; Aloe Veras; Apollo Junction; Skylights; Faux Pas and The Howl & The Hum.

"We'll start with three leagues of four teams and all the teams are really up for it," says Jericho. So who does he reckon are the tournament favourites? "Everyone's feeling really confident. I had a text from The Feens saying 'We've got this one in the bag'! Rick Witter's son Duke, from Serotones, is a really good player. It looks an open tournament."

Admission is free but donations to York Mind would be received gratefully. "Everyone is welcome," says Jericho. "There'll be food and a bar, and after the football, the bands will be competing against each in a quiz with a football and music theme."
