PLANS for a local relief road, first approved in the 1990s, may be rescinded to clear the way for a new housing development.
North Yorkshire County Council's executive will be asked to rescind part of an approved route for a Harrogate outer relief road at its meeting tomorrow.
The route affected runs from east of the proposed Killinghall bypass to north of Knaresborough.
Planning application for a housing development on Boroughbridge Road, Knaresborough, has been submitted and is being considered by Harrogate Borough Council.
The relief route now conflicts with this application and housing allocations in the draft local plan.
