FIREFIGHTERS dealt with two small fires in the same street in a village near Selby on Thursday evening.
A crew from Selby were called to a report of a fire in the open on Barlby Road, Barlby, at about 8.20pm.
This was a fire to a small amount of cut shrubs and wood. The crew used one hose reel and a pitchfork to put out the flames.
A crew from Selby were also called to a jetty post on fire on Barlby Road at around 9.30pm.
The fire was to an area of less than one square metre. Crews used one hose reel to extinguish this.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service confirmed both fires are believed to have been started deliberately.
