SCRAWLED in the background of Charles Hills' Reflections Classic Car Hire website is the epithet, "Emotions in Motion".

That just about sums up the business which Charles and his wife, Janice, began at their home in Sutton-on-the-Forest in April, spending £100,000 on a "stable" of five elite classic cars.

Now the couple are pitching for the New Business Of The Year category in The Press Business Awards 2007.

The models, whose gravel-like engine roars are likely to evoke total nostalgia from every knight of the road, are an MGA Mark Two Roadster - thought to be the only one available for hire in the UK - an E-Type Jaguar, a Triumph Stag, a Morgan Plus Four and an MGB Roadster.

Charles aims his business at the public, who want to use his vehicles for special occasions, rather than at classic car enthusiasts.

Most of his customers are from Yorkshire, but with half the rentals arising from internet inquiries at www.reflectionscch.co.uk, there are clients all over the country.

As a classic car enthusiast, Charles studied the car hire scene, then attended a course run by the Historic and Classic Car Hirers Guild in 2005 about the running of a classic car hire business.

Then, having attended the Business Link exhibition fair in York and attended all of its seminars, he launched. Rental rates range from £140 per day for the MGB to £260 for the E-Type, including insurance and unlimited mileage.

Reflections Classic Car Hire clients are offered an optional selection of scenic driving routes in Yorkshire, and recommended places to eat or stay overnight.
