A CELEBRATORY choral concert was due to be staged at York Minster on Thursday night (July 5) to mark the NHS’s 70th birthday.
Singing legend Linda Nolan, who is currently undergoing NHS treatment for breast cancer, was due to host the event, joined by NHS patients and staff including 15-year-old Eve Senior, a survivor of the Manchester terror attack who wants to become a nurse.
The NHS Greenwich and Lewisham choir will perform its charity single With a Little Help From my Friends, and Britain’s Got Talent finalists, the B-Positive Choir, is also set to appear, while Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt will speak.
Meanwhile, the NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has held a 1940s-themed event at West Offices to celebrate the NHS’s 70th birthday.
The CCG’s giant NHS70 birthday card, which has been touring the Vale of York in recent weeks, was also available to sign and write goodwill messages in, and there was food and music.
