ONE motorist required treatment after two cars crashed on the A64 near York this morning (June 22).

It happened at about 10.30am on the eastbound carriageway between Bilbrough and Copmanthorpe, and involved a red Seat Ibiza and silver VW Golf, North Yorkshire Police said.

It confirmed that one motorist was treated for a slight injury to a knee. Police attended, along with fire and ambulance crews.

One lane was closed while the two cars were recovered. It re-opened at 11.35am.
