A BROKEN down bus caused traffic problems in the city centre this morning.
The bus was stranded on the corner of Nessgate, causing traffic to be reduced to one lane.
Police signalling was in place for about ten minutes before an engineer managed to restart the bus and it continued its journey.
Traffic queues spread down Clifford Street and Bridge Street.
First York managing director, Marc Bichtemann, said: "Unfortunately one of our Park & Ride vehicles suffered an electrical issue this morning and required rebooting and engineer attendance at lower Ousegate.
"We apologise for any disruption this caused."
The bus has now been recovered.
