A MOTORIST stopped by police on the A64 in North Yorkshire was allegedly almost five times the drink driving limit.
North Yorkshire Police have tweeted that a member of the public and an off-duty police officer both reported a vehicle being driven very erratically on the road near Malton yesterday evening.
"The driver provided a roadside breath sample of 175mg. That’s 5 times the legal limit! He was arrested and in custody provided an evidential breath sample of 174mg. He will be charged to court."
Sgt Paul Cording tweeted there had been 'unbelievable disregard for the safety of other road users,' adding: "Huge thank you to the member of public who called this in. They may well have saved a life by doing this. Please continue to call in and we will respond."
