A MOTORIST tested positive for cannabis in a roadside test after their van was stopped by police on the A19 near Thirsk.
Sgt Paul Cording tweeted that the vehicle was stopped because it appeared to be in poor repair.
"A check of the vehicle however showed it to be roadworthy but the driver tested positive for cannabis on roadside," he tweeted. He said the driver was arrested and had provided a blood sample in custody which would be sent off for analysis, adding: "The driver faces a nervous wait for the results."
