A MAN was injured while trying to save his cat from a dog.
North Yorkshire Police said the eight-year-old cat, named Walnut, was killed when it was attacked between White Rose Avenue and New Earswick Sports Club on Sunday, May 13, at about 10.45pm.
The dog was not on a lead, and attacked the cat’s owner - a 19-year-old man - injuring both his hands.
Police want to trace the dog’s owner, who was described as a white man, about 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall, average build, in his early to mid thirties with short brown hair.
He was wearing a dark green or black parka-style coat and black jogging bottoms, and the dog was a medium to large size dog, short-haired, brown, with stocky build and wearing a plain collar.
