BRIDLINGTON’S third annual Sailing Coble Festival has been announced for August 4-5.
Organisers are hopeful that 12 cobles (traditional fishing boats) will sail this year, together with two Tyne work boats rigged for sail.
Two of the oldest cobles taking part will be Three Brothers, built in Bridlington, and Madeleine Isabella, built in West Hartlepool, both of which were built in 1912.
The event also boasts music from Jim Eldon, the Brid Fiddler, who played on board the pleasure steamers Yorkshire Bell and Flamborian for more than 30 years.
All the boats will be moored near the Harbour Heritage Museum and crews will gather at 9am for first sailing at 9.30.
There will be two sailing sessions each day. Admission is free.
