DETECTIVES are investigating the attempted burglary of a Post Office in Selby.
North Yorkshire Police said thieves removed a padlock from an access gate and damaged a window of Camblesforth Post Office, in Croft Road, between 9pm on Monday and 4am on Tuesday, in an attempt to gain entry.
A police spokesman said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing for information about any suspicious people or vehicles in the area of the post office.
"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two, and ask for Julia Allen."
