CHOREOGRAPHER and performer Poliana Lima presents a contemporary dance solo piece, Hueco (Hollow), at the York Theatre Royal Studio tomorrow.
Award-winning Lima looks at the notion of identity through the concept of journeying and through the interaction between movement and live music in a work featuring music by Vidal and costume design by Val Barreto.
At the heart of Hueco is an exploration of the sensation of vertigo: what happens when we throw ourselves into the unknown. "Hueco is the emptied space between what is left behind and what is emerging. It’s in this emergent space that dance makes itself felt," says Lima, who is originally from Brazil and now lives in Madrid.
Tickets for tomorrow's 7.45pm show cost £12.50 on 01904 623568 or at yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
