A WOMAN was seriously injured when she was bitten on her face by a dog in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the attack happened on a footpath, next to allotments, near Heslington Road and Walmgate Stray.
The victim required surgery in hospital following the attack.
The dog has been described as a Husky cross-bread, larger that a standard Husky, with dark grey, pale and white markings, and had one brown and one blue eye.
The dog owner was white, medium build, aged 25-29, 5ft 6in-5ft 8in tall, with light brown or blond close shaved hair, wearing a red T-shirt and baggy pale blue jeans.
The dog owner was with a young girl, aged one to two years, with shoulder length straight pale blonde hair, wearing a beige, satin bridesmaid type dress and sandals.
The attack happened between 4.45pm and 5.30pm on Thursday last week, but details have just been released.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called to a report of a patient with a dog bite at 5.20pm on Thursday and one ambulance attended.
It confirmed one woman was taken to York Hospital.
