A VILLAGE near Selby is gearing up for a number of summer events in late May and early June.
The events kick off in Burn on May 25 with the Wheatsheaf Inn’s three-day Beer Festival.
Ten real ales will be available, plus four at the bar, and there will be live music.
On June 2, again at the Wheatsheaf, there will be a concert featuring the Selby Music Centre Folk Group and a four-piece ensemble, The Tea Band.
The concert, which will take place in the marquee on The Wheatsheaf car park, is free of charge and starts at 7.30pm.
Then on June 3, The Vintage Vocalist, Paula Marie, will be joining Burn residents, families and friends for Burn’s tenth ‘Big Lunch’ at the Wheatsheaf with a nostalgic trip through the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s.
The Big Lunch was created by Cornwall’s Eden Project to get communities around the country to socialise together and Burn has staged the event every year since.
It will include a barbecue, a tombola and maybe more, from 3pm, with Paula Marie performing from 3.30pm.
