A PLAN for 60 new homes in a village near Selby has been turned down because the buildings would be outside development limits and would harm the openness of the countryside.
The scheme for School Road, Hemingbrough, drew 10 objection letters, and when it was considered by Selby District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday councillors agreed with officials who recommended they block the plan.
At the same meeting, councillors agreed to reduce the amount of affordable homes at a 17 homes site in Castle Close, Cawood, from 40 per cent to 23.5 per cent - or four homes.
