Garden fire damages guttering and window frame
GUTTERING, a window frame and a pipe at a property off Foxwood Lane, York, have been damaged by a fire involving a bin and a fence earlier today.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the blaze, dealt with by crews from Acomb and Huntington, was believed to have been caused by smoker's materials.
Another fire which damaged items in a washing basket at a house in Haxby Road, York, is believed by firefighters to have been caused by spontaneous combustion.
Crews extinguished smouldering items with buckets of water, said a service spokesperson.
