A COMMUNITY café in a Selby district village is celebrating its successful first anniversary.
The Fairburn Community Pop-In Café was started up with funding by the district's Western area community engagement forum (CEF), and is a welcoming meeting place for everyone from older people to young families.
The café has hosted fun days, raised money for charities, been visited by the Fire Service, organised a Christmas party and even knitted 1,000 poppies for the Selby Abbey project.
It is open from 9am to 12noon every Wednesday morning in the village hall, Silver Street, Fairburn.
