ARSONISTS are believed to have started a fire in an empty barn in Selby yesterday.
Fire crews from Selby, York, Tadcaster and Snaith were called to the scene in Ouse Bank at about 3.20pm.
The barn, measuring approximately ten metres by eight metres, suffered severe fire, heat and smoke damage.
A North Yorkshire fire service spokesman said: "The cause is believed to be deliberate and remains open for a revisit on Monday."
Crews used one hose reel jet, a ground monitor, 45mm hose and a thermal imaging camera to put out the fire.
