A MARIE Curie nurse has received a free makeover as a thank you to the charity and to help mark the launch of its biggest fundraising campaign.
Marie Curie is best known for its nurses, who care for people at the end of their lives, in their own homes, allowing them to spend their last days where they most want to be, surrounded by their loved ones.
Caroline Leslie has been a Marie Curie nurse for almost seven years, and currently works throughout York.
As it is the start of the charity’s fundraising campaign, the Great Daffodil Appeal, and to say thank you to its nurses, Anna Stephenson, a local hair and make-up artist, and staff at Fenwicks in York gave Caroline a makeover at the Hotel du Vin, in York’s The Mount.
Local residents are being urged to get involved with the charity’s ‘Let’s go yellow day' on March 16 by wearing yellow and inviting people to make a donation to raise money for the appeal.
