AN ABNORMAL load will be travelling to Tadcaster with a police escort this morning, and police are urging drivers to avoid the route if possible.
The load will leave Bentley near Doncaster at around 8.45am and travel north on the A19 to Selby via Brayton. It will then head along Scott Road, Flaxley Road, Hospital Lane, Scalm Lane and onto the B1222 Biggin crossroads through to Sherburn in Elmet.
It will then head north on the A162 to Tadcaster, take the A659 West, onto Station Road and arrive at Tower Brewery at about 1pm.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group said: "The journey would normally take one hour, however due to the size of the load will take five hours.
"Please be patient with us and if at all possible avoid the area."
