WEEKS of repairs to one of York's busiest road junctions began last night.
City of York Council will upgrade the traffic signals around the Lendal Arch affecting the junctions of Station Road, Station Avenue, Station Rise, Rougier Street and Lendal Bridge, with motorists advised to expect delays every day for up to ten weeks, between 8am and 6pm.
On Monday morning, workers were still putting out barriers and preparing the junctions for the work, which will also include changes to the pedestrian crossing - making it wider and safer - and widening of the pavement.
