MOTORISTS have been facing difficult journeys overnight and this morning after heavy snowfalls in higher parts of North Yorkshire - as these images show.
The scenes were all captured at 8am today by webcams operated by North Yorkshire County Council on key routes around the county.
They show the A61 at Carlton Miniott near Thirsk, the A170 at Sutton Bank near Thirsk, the B1257 at Chopgate near Helmsley, the A169 Whitby to Pickering road at Blue Bank and the A684 at Leyburn.
Lower areas such as York mostly experienced rain, although a little snow fell at about 1.30am before turning back to rain.
Today will see sunshine and further scattered wintry showers, mostly in the west of ther county. It will feel bitterly cold in brisk winds. Tomorrow may see more wintry showers.
