A VETERINARY clinic for horses in York has been boosted by a £50,000 investment in new equipment.
Minster Veterinary Equine Clinic in Northfield Lane, Upper Poppleton, has taken delivery of a new operating table, anaesthetic machine and high powered x-ray generator and stand.
Head veterinary nurse Emma Tolliday said features of the upgraded machine included a ventilator that allowed artificial breathing for anaesthetised patients.
The operating table included supportive mattresses to ensure maximum horse safety and comfort during surgery.
It was also highly manoeuvrable, allowing for adjustment of the height, position and angle of the patient for specialist surgeries such as arthroscopies.
She said this was the first of several substantial investments that the clinic hoped to make over the next 12 months.
