A FIRE alert was started when a parrot flew too close to a burglar alarm sensor at a property in Hookstone Close, Harrogate, yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews responded to reports of a smoke detector activation in domestic premises.
However, on their arrival, they found a burglar alarm had activated after the resident’s parrot had flown next to a sensor, setting it off.
