YORK Rocks Against Cancer is returning to The Grand Opera House, York, for the fourth time, with Emmerdale stars to take part.
They will be on stage on March 24, alongside the Rocks House Band, featuring members of York favourites Sister Madly and The Superlicks Party Band.
Will Robey of the Superlicks has joined York Rocks stalwart Ian Surgenor in promoting this year’s extravaganza. Will organised last year’s inaugural United in Music event, which raised cash for us and for Macmillan Cancer Support.
York Rocks’ participating acts include The Mix, CopOwt and Attitude Dance Club, plus headliners the 5.15s, who will be performing acoustically during a York Rocks busking session at Sainsburys, Monks Cross this Sunday.
York Rocks promo gigs will take place at Acomb Conservative Club on February 16 and at the Hare and Hounds, Riccall, on February 17.
Ian and Will are keen to hear from businesses who would help sponsor this year’s event. For £250, they will get a full-sized image projected onto the big screen at regular intervals, a page in the concert programme, plus two free tickets to the event with access to the after-show party. Call Ian on 07948 567914 or email iansurgenor@googlemail.com
Tickets for York Rocks are on sale now and are available priced £15 at http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/york-rocks-against-cancer/grand-opera-house-york/
