THE way that our Prime Minister and her team have handled the debates on Britain’s departure from the European Union after the referendum has been quite appalling and shambolic.
In every speech and news interview she has nowadays, she always includes the phrase “Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed”.
May I remind Theresa May of the lyrics of a Lonnie Donegan chart hit back in 1962?
“Oh my friend, the party’s over, it’s time to call it a day, they burst your balloon, and taken the moon away, it’s time to wind up this masquerade.
So make your mind up, the piper must be paid.”
The closing lyrics of the song are: “Now you must wake up, all dreams must end, take off your make up, this party’s over. Yes, it is all over my friend.”
The sooner that she realises the people who burst her balloon were members of her own party, the better.
She should move aside and allow the electorate to elect a party with a real direction for our country to be in a position to attempt to repair the damage the Tories have done to us.
