CITY of York Council is increasing a range of its fees and charges with effect from New Year's Day.
Additional income of £79,000 will be generated in the year 2018/19 from the increase in fees and charges, mainly from Bereavement Services, which will reap an extra £495,000.
And the council will collect £20,000 extra between January and April 2018.
Following the decision to increase charges the cost of an adult cremation is to rise by £20 to £875 and memorials and plaques rise by various amounts.
Large rooms for marriages and civil partnership ceremonies are to rise by £5 to £250 from Monday to Thursdays and £10 to £340 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Other areas with increases include environmental health and trading standards, waste, housing, parking, planning, public health and adult social care.
