THE Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu will present a Christmas Day show at 1pm, that will be recorded in advance at BBC Radio York .
He will tell the story of Christmas through some of his favourite carols, including, In the Bleak Midwinter, performed by the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, the calypso carol See him Lying in a bed of Straw by St Winifred’s school and Hark the Herald Angels Sing by the Choir of York Minster.
Dr Sentamu said: “The Christmas Story is the greatest story ever told and one to stir the soul and lift our spirits.
"It has inspired countless musicians down the centuries and I am looking forward to sharing with you some of my favourite music that helps us to celebrate the birth of Jesus."
He will preach at York Minster on Christmas Day at 10am.
