A TEENAGE boy is fighting for his life after he was knocked over by a car this morning.

The 14-year-old was hit on Clotherholme Road, near the junction of Aislabie Garth, in Ripon, at 8.45am as he walked to school.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and he was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as "critical".

His family has been informed and is currently with him in hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, which involved a silver car, is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
