FIREFIGHTERS have used hydraulic cutting gear to rescue a woman from a car after it was involved in a two-vehicle crash on a North Yorkshire road.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering possible head and spinal injuries, following the accident yesterday evening in Muston Road, Filey.
Meanwhile, two young children were released by fire crews after becoming stuck in a lift in Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton, and firefighters investigated a smell of burning in a property in Flaxley Road, Selby, which turned out to be melted plastic on a hot light bulb.
