REUNITED Eighties' pop trio Bananarama are touring for the first time ever with their original line-up of Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey. Show number four will be at a sold-out York Barbican where doors will open at 7pm for the 8pm start next Thursday.

"You just think it’s now or never, " Woodward told the Chris Evans Show when announcing the comeback tour on the BBC Radio Two airwaves. "I gave Siobhan a call, put the idea in her head and thought it was never going to happen, but what do you know, it did."

Bananarama were formed by childhood friends Dallin and Woodward and Dallin's fellow fashion journalism student Fahey in 1979 and went on to become Britain's most successful girl group, They still continued to have hits after Jacquie O'Sullivan joined for a couple of years in 1988, when Siobhan walked out amid acrimony to form Shakespears Sister with American musician Marcella Detroit.

All these years later, Fahey told Evans of her delight at Woodward's call. "I was really touched because it wasn’t for any other reason than we love each other and we’re really proud of what we did together," she said. "I was feeling really nostalgic and proud and what a great thing to celebrate."

The re-formed trio, who last performed together at the 1988 BRIT Awards, have discussed making a single but the tour's focus will be on "all the girls, all the hits, all the hair".

Sara says: "Keren and I have toured as a duo for years, but we never toured or played live with Siobhan. We've been talking about this idea for a while and now the moment has finally arrived, it's incredibly exciting! Lots of fans have often asked 'please just do one tour with Siobhan', so now their wishes have come true."

Expect to hear Robert De Niro’s Waiting…, Cruel Summer, Venus, Nathan Jones, I Heard A Rumour, Shy Boy, Love In The First Degree and more besides in Bananarama's only Yorkshire show on this autumn's 13-date tour.
