PANTO stars have toured York city centre on an old Routemaster bus to promote this year’s show at the Theatre Royal.
Jack and the Beanstalk cast members climbed on board the Yorkshire Belles double decker yesterday to stage photo opportunities and meet the public at landmarks such as Clifford’s Tower.
They included Martin Barrass, who is returning to the show after missing last year’s panto through injury in a motorcycle accident, traditional villain David Leonard, Suzy Cooper, AJ Powell and Luke Adamson.
Dame Berwick Kaler was unable to make it but is continuing his recovery after heart surgery in the summer, said a theatre spokesman. He said cast members were earlier filmed for a panto trailer video, and they will start rehearsals on November 20. He added that tickets for the panto, which starts on December 14 and will run until February 3, were selling well.
